The Indian Super League (ISL) is the most competitive football league in India, with all the top players from the country participating in it. The league also boasts decent foreign talent, while in recent times, it has emerged as a breeding ground for youngsters.

5 goalkeepers who have made the most saves in ISL history

Here, we take a look at five goalkeepers who have made the most saves in ISL history.

Amrinder Singh can lay claim to being the best goalkeeper in ISL history, with the 28-year-old topping the list for most saves made by a shot stopper in the competitions history.

Amrinder who currently plays for ATK Mohun Bagan consistently tops the goalkeeping charts for both club and country, with the star winning the Golden Glove award in 2016.

    Subrata Paul

Subrata Paul is widely considered to be the best goalkeeper to come from India, with the 35-year-old putting on match winning performances consistently for both club and country.

Paul created history when he became the first Indian goalkeeper to sign for a European club when he moved to FC Vestjaelland in the Danish Superliga in 2014.

The shot stopper has been his usual brilliant self in the ISL as seen by the number of saves he has made in the competitions history.

TP Rehenesh is one of the most underrated goalkeepers in the country, which is unfortunate considering that he has put on impressive performances on a consistent basis during his career.

The 29-year-old has been extremely consistent for current club, Jamshedpur FC and was their best player in the 2020/21 season.

The first Indian player to play in the Europa League, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is the country’s number 1 goalkeeper and has been brilliant between the sticks for Bengaluru FC ever since he joined them in the 2017/18 season.

The 30-year-old played a key role in the club winning the 2018/19 ISL title and has won the Golden Glove award in consecutive twice so far.

Laxmikant Kattimani has enjoyed success at every club he has played for during his career and played a key role in Hyderabad FC winning their maiden ISL title last season – making crucial saves when needed the most.

The 33-year-old has never represented India at the senior level, something which is unfortunate for the talented shot stopper.
