The big news was announced during a livestream celebrating Final Fantasy VII’s 25th anniversary. It was also confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be followed by a third and final game, whose release date is still unknown.
First released in 1997, Final Fantasy VII follows mercenary Cloud Strife in his journey to take down Sephiroth, who threatens to destroy the planet. Titled Final Fantasy VII Remakethe first remake game was released in April 2020 for PS4.
