Design
When it comes to the design of the DreamView G1 Pro gaming light, Govee has opted to create something small and relatively unobtrusive. It comes as a pair of RGB sticks that you can stick to either side of your monitor on your table and point the lights away from you and up against the wall.
This helps to create a cast-off effect that isn’t so glaring or in your face, and if you happen to have walls painted white, it can help reflect it even more and bathe your entire room in RGB. The light sticks themselves are rather simple and understated, which is a good thing since it won’t draw too much attention, save for a small Govee logo on the base that can also change color.

Dynamic lighting
Now, unlike some of the cheaper RGB light sticks we’ve seen out there that just cast RGB lights, what makes the DreamView G1 Pro gaming light different is that it comes with a HD camera that sits on top of your monitor.
What this camera does is that it actually checks what’s going on in your monitor and will be able to change the lights accordingly. This means that if you are playing a game that has a lot of fire or lava, then the lights emitted by the DreamView G1 Pro might give off a red hue. Or if you’re exploring a forest, you might get some green hues from the RGB, and so on.
According to Govee, this doesn’t just work with your monitor but it can also pick up audio from speakers or headphones when connected via the 3.5mm jack. This means that when you’re watching a movie, the lights can also change according to the sound.

In addition to being dynamic, if you prefer your lights to stay static and not change around too much, you can do that too. Govee has included over 42 different scene modes that the company claims has been created by a professional light designer, with each scene inspired by various things like festivals, nature, gaming environments, and more, so there should be something for everyone.
