Back in 2021, Samsung did not launch a new Galaxy Note handset and instead brought features from the series into the Galaxy S21 lineup. This year further cemented the fact that the Note series could be over as Samsung integrated the S-Pen into the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The good news is that if you’re still holding onto the Galaxy Note 20 handset, Samsung hasn’t forgotten about you. The company has recently pushed out an update for both the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra that will bump its firmware version up to N98xU1UEU2FVEB.
This update is said to improve on the handset’s camera, or more specifically, the camera’s Night Portrait feature. With this update, the feature should be able to capture better quality portrait photos of people even in low-light conditions.
Of course, in addition to the camera improvements, the update will also be addressing some privacy and security issues by patching 66 known vulnerabilities. The update should be live for users who have the carrier-locked model, so if that’s you, then you’ll want to keep an eye out for this update when it starts to make its way to you.
Users can also try to manually pull the update by going to their phone’s Settings > Software update, and then tapping on “Download and install”.
